Combine your visit into traditional rural village life with an opportunity to experience one of the crafts and end with a fun-filled day at Khorat Zoo and Water Park.

Day 1
Pick up from Sida(bus) or Bua Yai (train) by air-con car for transfer to Lamai Homestay Guesthouse in Ko Phet village in time for a late lunch. A hot shower, an air-conditioned room and the amazing home cooking ends the day.
Day 2 (range of options)
After an early breakfast served in the garden, you can take a walk into the family rice fields (one to one guide) where you are given an explanation of the whole operation. You can then choose from the following:

· try your hand at one of the villages' daily activities - make your own piece of silk, weave a bamboo basket, or weave a beach grass rush mat. OR |
| · take a tour of the finest silk weaving village in Thailand ending with a visit to Lamai's favourite food and clothing market OR |
| · take the trip to Phimai Park and Banyan Tree (see Phimai and Ban Prasat day on the Rural Life Tour) OR |
| · assist Lamai's mum in her hunt for scorpions, frogs, spiders etc. (see Food-foraging trip) |
Day 3 Khorat City Open Zoo and Water Park
Khorat Zoo is one of the largest and definitely one of the best open zoos in South East Asia. It covers an area of 545 rai and has over 2,000 animals from all over the world. In recent years it has become internationally renowned for its conservation and breeding programmes. Recently it celebrated the birth of the first African baby elephant born in captivity in Thailand. This was followed by the birth of eight rare Burmese Star tortoise babies in the zoo hatchery.
The zoo is beautifully landscaped with very large areas dedicated to the various animals whilst protecting the public with moats or banks, giving the impression of open safari.
You can either cycle around the grounds or use the VIP golf trolley cars. Alternatively you can hop on and off one of the 5 minute trains that rotate around the park.
To end the day, you can visit the brand new state of the art Water World park with swimming pools and water slides and plenty of choice to sit in the sun or the shade. You will be accompanied on this trip by myself, Lamai and our two young daughters. Hard to say who enjoys this trip the most - the young or the not so young! It is an unbeatable day out.
Day 4
Morning at leisure in the village followed by transfer to Sida/Bua Yai for your onward journey. Also available is our VIP AIRPORT PICK UP AND DROP OFF SERVICE. Please ask.
